Paws & Claws

Dog Daycare & Lodging Agreement

Our playgroups are so successful because they are filled with regular daycare guests that
know each other and our staff are familiar with the groups. We strive to provide the best
care for your pet so we provide your first day evaluation* for free to make sure we are a good fit for your pet.

*evaluations only needed for dogs

Collars:

All campers and boarding pets must come in and leave on a leash (we will hand these back to you once we have your pet checked in). All pets must also have a quick release collar that contains an identification tag with pet’s name and owners info. Dog’s are not allowed to wear flea collars due to being toxic if ingested.

Daycare:

After getting to know your pet during the first evaluation day we will place them with the appropriate group. During the day your dog will be placed in one of our many play yards with a team member to supervise all play. If the weather does not permit outdoor play, then we will move the group inside to one of our climate controlled rooms. We provide a kennel free, all day play facility. Nap times are each afternoon without being kenneled.

Includes:

● Access to daycare throughout the day for both indoor and outdoor play
● Raised bed and/or fleece mat (Mats will be removed if dogs are chewing them)
● Owners may bring 1 blanket with the understanding these items can be damaged or misplaced. We provide your pet with everything else they will need so no beds or toys will be accepted.
● Prescription and over the counter medications will be administered at no extra charge

Important Details You Need to Know:

  1. Compatibility Evaluation:  All dogs must pass the compatibility evaluation and have a day of daycare to make sure they will be a good fit before boarding. We want your pet to enjoy their stay as much as we enjoy having them, so you can rest assured if you leave your pet with us we have made sure they will have an enjoyable experience.
  2. Feeding: You are required to bring your pet’s food in sealed ziplock bags (one per meal we feed twice daily) and labeled with your pet’s first and last name. We want to operate efficiently and provide the exact measurements you want for your pet. Please do not bring in large bags as we do not have space to accommodate. There will be a charge of $5 per day if meals are not individually bagged. We can accommodate any special diets owners bring including refrigeration. If you do not bring food or if your pet runs out of food we will supply MM grain free salmon and rice blend for an additional $4 per feeding. To help prevent bloating dogs will remain separated for a minimum of 1 hour after a meal.
  3. Fleas: All pets must be flea/tick free. Should a pet be observed to have fleas or ticks after drop off, a flea/tick bath treatment will be applied and charged to the owner at a rate of $45.00+ depending on severity and size of pet(s).
  4. Day of Pick-up Prices: Please review our pickup times to avoid a late pick-up fee. Details may be found under each boarding type. There are no exceptions to the policy. If your pet needs a Suite after the regular scheduled pick-up time, we are unable to use that room for another guest for that night.
  5. Ability to be Handled: Staff must be 100% comfortable handling the dogs they are supervising in their playgroups. Dogs showing aggression toward a staff member for any reason will be removed from their playgroups until assessed by the Manager. If it is determined that he/she can’t be confidently controlled in playgroups without causing harm to other dogs and staff, he/she will be dismissed from playgroups.
  6. Vaccinations: Dog(s) must have Rabies, Distemper and Bordetella and be kept up-to-date before each visit. Male dogs over 6-months must be neutered, female dogs over 6-months must be spayed.

Keep in mind our evaluation is to determine whether your dog will display behaviors that are compatible with our playgroups. We use a very formal evaluation program to record behaviors we notice during the day. Dogs that don’t do well aren’t “bad dogs”- they are simply better suited for a private boarding facility. Not all dogs like daycare. We want your dog’s participation in playgroups to be both beneficial to your dog and to our playgroups.

As dogs become comfortable with an environment their behavior can, and most likely will change. What we see today is likely going to be different from what we see 3 months from now. Most of our dismissals do not happen on evaluation day; rather they happen after a dog has been a member of playgroups for a while. We keep specific notes on all dogs’ behaviors and will keep you notified if any problems arise. Our ultimate goal is to have the safest, happiest playgroups possible.
