Our Team

Jamie Tillman, Co-Owner

Since I was a child, I’ve had a deep love and appreciation for animals, thanks to all the fun times and hard work I experienced on my grandpa’s farm. Nowadays, I’ve got my own hobby farm where I raise Nubian and Nigerian goats. Being a business owner for 18 years has taught me a lot, and now I have the pleasure to bring a luxury-style daycare facility to Springfield. Our furry friends are such a big part of our lives, and it’s truly an honor to create a place that not only offers a safe and loving environment while you’re away but also includes training sessions and daily enrichments. Can’t wait to make tails wag and hearts happy!

Shannon Elliott, Co-Owner

My love for dogs started at a very young age with my first sheltie dog, named Happy. Later in life, I purchased a yorki-poo puppy named Cozbi, she is now 9 years old. I soon became interested in learning and understanding the crucial need to help be a part in saving dogs that had been living an entire life of inhumane conditions such as mill breeding, dumping and abandonment. I opened my home to foster many different dogs that lived a life as puppy mill breeder and it was the most self rewarding experience I’ve ever had. All poorly treated animals deserve to know a loving hand and home within their lifetime! I fostered and adopted a Havanese named Kyla, she was locked up and traumatized in an inhumane breeding mill for 7 years. Having her in my home 4 years later she still suffers from extreme anxiety. I also fostered and adopted a standard poodle named Paris, she’s 9 years old and has severe epilepsy. Paris is now on proper medication, well taken care and loved.
My team and I will provide a reliable, caring and trustworthy place for your dogs to stay while you’re at work or away. Just imagine all the wagging tails and happy faces you’ll see every day at Paws & Claws!

I’m excited to step into business world with my mom. She says mixing my obsession with my phone and my love of animals makes this the perfect role for me. You will often see me around the facility taking pictures or giving extra love to your pets.

Aubrey Rose, Shift Lead

My experience with dogs started with taking care of hunting dogs while they boarded for training. I saw the processes and procedures that go into the business. My love for dogs started when I worked at one of the biggest dog daycare and boarding facilities in the Midwest. I saw the love and care that should be put into a facility. I love to train as a hobby and have been working with my dog, Otto, since he was a puppy. I’m excited to bring my experience and ideas to help this place be the safest and most comfortable place for your furry friends to come enjoy.

Amanda Yocum, Trainer

Let me introduce myself, I’m a friendly helper who is always eager to support and provide creative solutions. I have a passion for science-based dog training and firmly believe in the power of strengthening the bond between dogs and their human companions. My goal is to empower both dogs and people to lead more fulfilling and cooperative lives together.

As a science-based dog trainer, I prioritize teaching valuable life skills to dogs. Whether it’s basic obedience commands, problem-solving, or even specialized training, I’m dedicated to helping dogs become well-behaved and happy members of their families. I firmly believe that a well-trained dog is a confident and content dog.

Furthermore, I understand the importance of fostering understanding between species. Dogs and humans communicate differently, and it’s crucial to bridge that gap in order to build a strong and harmonious relationship. By promoting effective communication and empathy, I strive to create a deeper connection between dogs and their human families.
